Production prototype / reservations
The Switchblade is designed to drive to a runway, deploy its wings and tail, and fly to another airport before continuing by road. Its earlier flight-test prototype first flew in November 2023.
Samson is developing the production configuration and hybrid drivetrain. Its September 2026 announcement described an $80 million investment agreement supporting a planned U.S. facility, with additional funding still sought.
The ownership model includes builder participation under the intended experimental amateur-built pathway. Buyers need to distinguish projected kit performance and estimated pricing from a completed, delivered aircraft.
