Where it stands
Prototype flight testing
Generation 6 is Wisk’s passenger-aircraft certification candidate. Its proposed operating model uses autonomous flight with human oversight from the ground, making supervision and communication central to the product.
Wisk reported the first aircraft’s hover flight in December 2025 and a second aircraft’s first flight in May 2026. These are development milestones, not authorization for a public autonomous taxi service.
Archer announced a planned acquisition of Wisk in August 2026. A September update said closing conditions remained, so this directory does not present the transaction as completed. The aircraft program should be followed independently of the corporate deal.
Availability
Autonomous passenger aircraft under development; no public service established by the cited sources.
Certification & operating context
Active FAA certification project; first Generation 6 flight announced December 2025.
What to watch next
Flight-envelope expansion, regulator-reviewed autonomy evidence and final transaction status.
