Where it stands
Preorders / certification development
The Land Aircraft Carrier approaches the flying-car idea through separation. A road vehicle transports the flying module to a suitable location, where the aircraft can be deployed. The complete road vehicle does not become airborne, and the flying module is not itself a conventional road car.
XPENG AEROHT adopted the ARIDGE name in 2025. The company has announced preorders and manufacturing progress, including regional agreements after a Dubai demonstration. Those signals show commercial intent, but they should not be described as a delivered, freely usable consumer fleet.
Our assessment: the modular concept could appeal to owners who want to bring personal flight capability along on a road trip. Its real utility will depend on approved places to fly, training, support and the final operating rules. A preorder is a commitment to a developing product, not proof that those questions have already been resolved.
